Our Nelson Place project is Belfast’s largest PBSA development, designed to support Ulster University’s expanding campus while revitalising a key brownfield site near the Cathedral Quarter. The 774-bed scheme integrates high-quality student accommodation with state-of-the-art recreational facilities, including a four-court sports hall, gym, and virtual reality golf simulator. A mix of red brick, metal cladding, and glass creates a dynamic street frontage, while a high-performance thermal envelope and acoustic glazing ensure sustainability and comfort.
The project was shaped by student needs, balancing high-quality living with affordability and well-being. Residents enjoy a range of social and study spaces, from a cinema room and theatre kitchen to a sky lounge with panoramic city views. The design emphasises awareness, flexibility, and participation, fostering social connections and encouraging active engagement through adaptable recreational spaces and student-led activities.
Collaboration with Ulster University and key stakeholders ensured the scheme was delivered on time for the 2024-25 academic year, with all rooms fully occupied and a waiting list in place. Nelson Place enhances student life by providing modern, inclusive amenities while contributing to Belfast’s urban regeneration.
