On the site of the old Canal Basin a new student accommodation block creating 240 beds. A new pedestrian street was created to improve links to the Canal and re-establish the connection with Tollcross. The scheme also incorporates two retail units. Materials used are a mixture of red/white brick and precast concrete to create a distinctive identity whilst responding to the existing buildings around the current Canal Basin.
All bedrooms incorporate pre-fabricated pod en-suite bathrooms, communal facilities including social lounges, a laundry, management suite and cinema room. The project has been designed with an electric heating system with building warrant approved based on non-domestic SBEM rating.
