The proposals at Carr’s historic headquarters look to wholly rationalise the spaces around their B listed Townhouse to provide additional facilities that work for both Carr’s and potential additional occupants by relocating specific facilities into a new rear extension.
The Georgian townhouse and its Victorian extension are the focal point of the existing grouping of buildings and these are to be restored to become the centrepiece of the Carr’s Headquarters, acting as main entrance for both staff, clients and visitors. Key to this is the stripping back of latter additions to improve the setting of this building including the removal of the concrete roof to the southern frontage and the mid-20th century additions to the rear, making way for a more sensitive intervention to the rear of the property.
