FJA are pleased to have our planning and listed building applications for our proposals at Carr’s Flour Mill, Kirkcaldy submitted to Fife Council for consideration. Following a positive pre-application process, the design team are now looking at detail design including a phased delivery of this fascinating site, over the next two years. The proposals at Carr’s historic headquarters look to wholly rationalise the spaces around their B listed Townhouse to provide additional facilities that work for both Carr’s staff, clients and visitors by relocating specific facilities into a new rear extension thus freeing the original house to be used as a welcoming HQ for their operations. Overall the project includes considered fabric repairs and subtle contemporary extension wrapped in a high-performance envelope, ensuring their existing historic asset is safeguarded while delivering a sustainable place of work for Carr’s Flour Ltd.
