A new build courtyard residence providing 465 beds arranged around four and five cluster style bedroom flats for private student occupation on the site of the former Bell’s Pottery, an Ancient Monument Site.
Four blocks of 4 and 8 storeys form a secure, fully landscaped, resident only courtyard and the flats were designed to allow for conversion to private or public residential.
Two storey construction methods involved the use of a steel frame transfer structure with masonry infill with five and six storey structural metal system build as well as traditional timber kit in the four storey blocks.
The palette of materials included polyester render and terracotta rain screen.
