Edinburgh Park

The proposals are for an office development of 1,400m² in a prominent position in Edinburgh Park.  The building’s facetted shape is a reaction to the constraints of the site, its orientation, the surrounding buildings and views. The design puts forward an environmental strategy that offers manageable low and high tech renewable solutions for a mainstream speculative office building:

Exposed thermal massed concrete floors
Double skin walls to act as wind buffer, shading and glare control
Double skin photovoltaic wall to south elevation, giving articulated façade
Water features to utilise evaporative cooling
Rain and waste water collection for flushing WCs from recycled grey water
zones for recycled heat recovery system from proposed atrium
Passive air strategy for office space linked to atrium and thermal stack
