Crags Sports Centre, Edinburgh

A new facility for the local Southside community, which was opened by city boxing star, Alex Arthur.  The main hall (34 x 18 metres) allows for multi-functional sports use such as badminton, basketball, football, netball, hockey, gymnastics and volleyball.

The Crags also has a health and fitness unit and a small cafeteria, which provides a focus for the local community.  The project was funded by a Sport Scotland lottery grant, Edinburgh City Council and local fund-raising.

The new Centre was subsequently taken over by Edinburgh Leisure.
