We have recently been appointed to develop two former office buildings located within the New Town Conservation Area and UNESCO World Heritage Site in Edinburgh.
Lismore House, George Street and Erskine House, Queen Street are being redesigned as Apart-Hotels.
The Erskine House scheme with its vast open spaces and two large courtyards will be re-designed internally to achieve 199 bedrooms in a mix of studios and 1 and 2 bed apartments, a gym suite and a commercial facility. Some structural alterations to existing courtyards will provide additional daylight to lowest levels of the building to allow for increased efficiency of the floor space.
The Lismore House scheme is a conversion of existing office accommodation into a 72 bedroom Apart-Hotel. The building is category B listed with retained Georgian façade and the works include restoration of the classical architectural features of this façade. The new layouts contain a mix of studios and 1 bed apartments, and again some structural alterations to existing courtyards will provide additional daylight to lowest levels of the building allowing for increased efficiency of the floor space.
Both projects are due to be on site by April 2016.
